Jean Claude (0)
Q: Are we waiting for the Sunday law?
A: Dear Jean Claude,
Thanks so much for writing. I believe you answered at least a part of your first question about the seven last plagues and the Sunday Law. A serious study of Bible prophecy tells us that these events will surely come, but as you said, no man knows the day or hour (Matthew 24:36). I’m afraid there will be too many people who assume that they are personally ready and just waiting on these final events to take place. The Bible tells us that we are not waiting on Jesus, but that He is waiting on us. Peter wrote “What sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God… (2 Peter 3:12).

This tells us that we can hasten, or speed up, the coming of Jesus. What is the delay? We find it in verse 9 – “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” This tells us that the way to speed up the coming of Jesus is to share the gospel with those around us so that they may be brought to repentance and saved. Those who just sit around and wait for the Sunday Law will wait too long and be lost (read the parable of the wise and foolish virgins in Matthew 25:1-10).

It is good to hear you have so many Adventist Churches in your area. The other churches you mention have people in them who love Jesus with all their hearts, but they don’t understand the prophetic message of the Three Angels of Revelation, and Jesus wants them to understand so that they will be ready when He returns.

Your friends in the Church of God 7th Day, like so many other Christians, think they believe in the Bible and the Bible only, but they don’t understand that the Bible teaches us to heed God’s prophets, and that there will be a special prophet guiding His last day church (compare Revelation 12:17 with Revelation 19:10 and 22:8-9). To ignore God’s last-day prophet that the Bible teaches us to receive is to ignore the Bible and the Bible only. We should be so very thankful as a church that God has given us this special gift to prepare us for Jesus’ second coming.
Thanks for writing, and remember, there's never been a better time to share Jesus!

Your friend,
Pastor Howard
