Q: If God said in the Ten Commandments not to kill, why did he allow wars in the Bible?
A: Dear Janice,
I don't know whether or not you have brothers or sisters, but let me ask you a question. When you argue or fight with them is it because your mom or dad allow you to fight, or is it because you choose to fight with them even though your parents taught you fighting was wrong and then trusted you to make the right decisions? It's the same with God. Even though He taught people in the Bible a better way, they still had the right to choose whether they would follow God's way or their own way. When there were wars, it was because they chose their own way.

Thanks for your question
Pastor Don
