Devante (10)
Q: Should you be friends with people who just want to be fiends with you because they want your money?
A: Dear Devante,
The Bible tells us to be FRIENDLY to everybody, but not FRIENDS with everybody. There is a difference. In Matthew 5:43-46 Jesus says we are even to love our enemies, and do good to the people who use us (for money or other reasons). This means we should be kind to all people. But the Bible also warns us about making close friendships with people who don't live to honor and obey God. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:33 "Bad company ruins good morals". If a friend is just interested in money, they don't have good motives for friendship. If I were you, I would begin praying for my friend and ask God to change his heart. And I would always try to find some way to share Jesus with my friend, because Jesus can change our motives from bad to good.

Thanks for writing, and remember, there's never been a better time to share Jesus!

Your friend,
Pastor Howard
