Anneca (11)
Q: Why do people draw jesus and they do not know how he looks?
A: Dear Anneca,
What a great question! I used to ask that same question a lot! Here’s what I think. We can sometimes make friends with people we have never seen. They may be overseas missionaries, or friends we have made through mail or e-mail. And even though we have never seen them, we have a picture of them in our hearts. It’s like that with Jesus. I know I have never seen Him with my eyes, but I have a picture of Him in my heart. And because he means so much to them, some artists want to express their love for Jesus and tell others about Him by drawing pictures of Him. Of course, they have never actually seen Him, so they draw what they see in their hearts, because that’s the best that they can do. The great news is that one day soon we won’t have to wonder what He looks like, because “we we shall see Him as He is.” (1 John 3:2 ).

Thanks for writing, and remember, there's never been a better time to share Jesus!

Your friend,
Pastor Howard
