Akelia (13)
Q: Is Paul is heaven? or did he die here on earth?
A: Dear Akelia,
Thanks for watching, and thanks for your question. The Bible doesn’t tell us how Paul died, but history tells us that the Apostle Paul was executed for his faith in Jesus by the Roman Emperor Nero. With the exception of a few people like Enoch, Moses and Elijah, most of God’s people will not go to heaven until the resurrection at the Second Coming of Jesus.

Paul, writing about the second coming of Jesus, said “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven… and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, [Paul thought he might be alive when Jesus came back], will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

Jesus said “Everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:40). He promised that He would come again and get Paul and all of His followers so that then we could be in heaven with Him. “I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” (John 14:3).

According to the Bible, Paul is resting in the grave until the second coming of Jesus, when He will resurrect the dead out of the graves, and take all of us to heaven together. What a wonderful day that will be! That is why Paul called the coming of Jesus “the blessed hope” (Titus 2:13).

Thanks for writing, and remember, there's never been a better time to share Jesus!

Your friend,
Pastor Howard
