Josiah (6)
Q: Why did Lucifer think that Jesus was bad and that Jesus was making a big mistake when he wanted to make a new world?
A: Dear Josiah,
Thanks for writing, and we glad you’re enjoying Kids’ Time!

Lucifer didn’t think Jesus was a bad person, and he really didn’t think it was bad or wrong for Jesus to make a new world. The problem was that Lucifer became proud. God told Lucifer “You became too proud because of your beauty. You ruined your wisdom because of your greatness” (Ezekiel 28:17, NCV). Even though Lucifer was the highest of the angels in heaven, he began to think he deserved even more attention. He became jealous of Jesus, because Jesus received so much attention from God the Father. It was this jealousy that made him not like Jesus. Jesus and His Father made the plans for the new world, because they are both God, and have creative power, which Lucifer does not. Lucifer thought it was unfair that Jesus was allowed to plan for the new world when he wasn’t allowed. This is why he was mad about the plans for the new world. This is why it is so important for us to ask Jesus to help us not to be proud and jealous of other people.

Thanks for writing, and remember, there's never been a better time to share Jesus!

Your friend,
Pastor Howard
