Q: I want to get baptized but i read the bible sometimes and I don't know what some words that they say in the bible mean?
A: Dear Charity,
Thanks for your good question. I’m so glad to hear that you want to be baptized. Be sure to share that with your parents and your pastor so he can begin preparing for it. They may want you to wait a while, but it’s still important that they know you want to be baptized. If you don’t understand some of the Bible words, there are a few things you can do. You can try a good Bible translation with language that is a little easier to read. I could recommend the New Century Version (NCV). Another great way to understand is with the help of a dictionary where you could look up the words you don’t know. And one of the very best things you can do is to ask your mom or dad to help explain them to you. And of course, always pray and ask Jesus to send the Holy Spirit to help you understand better. The more you spend time studying the Bible, the better you will be able to understand it, and the smarter you will be!

Thanks for writing, and remember, there's never been a better time to share Jesus!

Your friend,
Pastor Howard
