Donatai and Rochae (0)
Q: What colour is Jesus/how old is God?
A: Dear Donatai and Rochae,
Thanks for your great questions. First of all, What colour is Jesus? When Jesus was on earth, he was of Hebrew, or Jewish, descent, so He looked like a natural-born Jew would look today, probably with dark hair, dark skin and dark eyes. But when He went to heaven, He was glorified, and when His disciple John saw Him, this is how he described Jesus –

“Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength” (Revelation 1:12-16).

This was the best language John could find to try to describe what Jesus looked like.

How old is God? That’s a tough one! The Bible calls Him “the everlasting God” (Ps. 40:28). David also wrote “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God” (Psalm 90:2). Deuteronomy 33:27 calls Him “the eternal God.” In other words, God has always existed; He has no beginning and no end, so there’s no way of telling how old He is. That’s one of the things that makes Him God.

Thanks for writing, and remember, there's never been a better time to share Jesus!

Your friend,
Pastor Howard
